The selection process comprises three stages:
Preliminary Examination: This is an objective-type, multiple-choice screening test consisting of two papers. Paper-II (General Studies-II or CSAT) is qualifying in nature, requiring a minimum of 33% marks. The merit list for the Mains exam is based only on the score of Paper-I (General Studies-I).
