6 Popular Exam Myths every student has!
- It’s not about luck – the more you work hard, the luckier you get and there’s no such rule as being lucky without putting in the effort.
- Quality matters, not Quantity (3 hours of deep study >> 8 hours of study) – Human brain has its own limits and it’s been proven that less hours of deep study give better results as compared to more hours of studying. So find your suitable time for a deep study session. And we know that quality is always chosen over quantity. It is also important to take breaks while studying, get away from the screen/ notebooks and lie down/ stretch/ take a quick walk/ chit chat with friends – family etc.
- No goodbyes to social life – it is absolutely not necessary to give up on social media apps, family and friends events but make sure that when you study you don’t get distracted. Fix your time for it and stick to it. Practice self control and remain focused on your goals. Also you can do it if you wish to but don’t follow what others are doing !
- Coaching is not necessary – If you wish to, you can also prepare well on your own. It is not essential to join a renowned coaching institute, it helps but nowadays each and every study material is available online and there are many online platforms teaching for free as well, with the same inputs & efforts.
- You need not be a topper to crack an exam – there are many below average students who have amazingly cracked the exam, it is not important that a person who cracks the exam is supposed to be a high performance student. You just need to plan and execute your strategies well and you’re good to go. Stay focused, work hard and believe in yourself.
- Competition is not that high (only 8-12% students are actually serious) – There are lakhs of students who fill forms but only a few out of those lakhs are actually serious about the exam. So you need not demoralize yourself by thinking about the number of competitors. Channelise & plan your studies well and work accordingly. Test yourself regularly & Be positive.
